The All Progressives Congress (APC) party candidate in the gubernatorial election in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has defeated his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winning in 13 of the 18 LGAs in Edo State with a total votes of 306,653.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the PDP came second with 244,363 votes in the votes so far collated and announced by INEC.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rejected the results of the Edo governorship election held on Wednesday, ahead of the announcement of the outcome.
The party had warned INEC that it would not acceptany result different from what was announced at the various polling units in the state.
The PDP rejected the results in a press conference addressed by its Chairman in the state, Mr Dan Orbih, on Thursday in Benin.
The press conference was also attended the party's governorship candidate in the election, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Both the party and it's candidate said they rejected the results because they were "fabricated and a pre-determined" by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Edo Government.
