Fake officer bursted by army in Delta (Photo)

A fake army officer identified as ‘Group Lieutenant’ Ajedegba Benjamin Agatefe was paraded by the 222 battalion, Sector 1, Operation Pulo Shield in Delta State .

The suspect also claimed to be an army chaplain and a presiding priest of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Enwhe, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 4 Brigade, Captain Jonah Unuakhalu, said the suspect had claimed to be a member of one organisation known as Missionaries Army/Navy Chaplaincy under the leadership of one General Rev. Ezekiel Okundayo Ajedegba, who resides in Lagos State.

Unuakhalu added that the suspect also claimed that the uniform was given to him by the said Gen. Rev. Okundayo on his appointment as the Delta State Director of the organisation.

He said when the army conducted a search at the residence of the suspect, two pairs of blue uniforms and accessories, photo frames, a pair of black boot and calendars of the organisation were found in his home.

He said the suspect and his exhibits would soon be handed over to the Nigeria Police for necessary action after preliminary investigation.

The suspect the day he was arrested was the first day he put on the uniform to settle a case between his younger sister and her husband, adding that he wore the uniform in order to calm any uproar that could come up as a result of his presence.

On how he got the army uniform, the suspect said it was given to him by his boss, Okundayo, immediately he was appointed as the Delta State Director of the organisation.

“It was the first day l wore the uniform and the same day got into this problem and I’m arrested,” the suspected fake soldier said.
