Nigeria have maintained their 53rd spot in the in the FIFA rankings for September released on Thursday.
The Super Eagles however moved one step
higher from 10th to ninth spot on the continent dropping two points from
their 601 in August to finish with 599 points in September.
The Eagles have been inactive since
their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad in June but they
attained the 53rd position in the August rankings, which they
maintained this month.
Algeria
are still the first placed team in Africa with 774 points. Ivory Coast
and Ghana are the second and third placed teams while Tunisia, Senegal,
Congo, Cameroon and Egypt are the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and
eighth placed teams respectively. Cape Verde completed the top 10 teams
on the continent placing 56th in the world.
