When the platform on which the PDP
candidate Ayo Fayose and others stood on
collapsed last week some may have thought it
to have been an accident. But not so, for the
APC candidate who has described it as an act
of God reflective of God's rejection of Fayose
and the PDP.
Speaking during a fund raising dinner for his
campaign in Lagos at the weekend, Governor
Fayemi said the collapse of the platform was
reflective of God's anger on the PDP.
Fayemi and his Osun State counterpart, Ogbeni
Rauf Aregbesola, have called on the
Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) to rescind its decision not to use Voters
Card Reader machines in the forth coming
governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States.
Fayemi at the occasion said that irrespective of
the plans and plots, that the people of Ekiti
would do everything to protect their votes
after the election.
"We will go to any length not only to ensure
that the votes of the people count but that the
votes must be counted at the spot where they
have chosen to elect the leader for themselves
and we will do everything to ensure that INEC
is forced, not just encouraged to use the card
reader for these elections in Ekiti and Osun.".
The APC candidate stressed that the difference
made by his government in the lives of Ekiti
people since 2010 is crystal clear and it is an
evidence of his commitment to lifting up the
weak and vulnerable section of the society.
