The Nigerian youngster scored two goals and
made an assist as the young Gunners silence
their Italian opponent
Chuba Akpom was in splendid form as he
anchored Arsenal’s attack in their 4-1 victory
over Napoli in the Uefa Youth Champions
League match played on Wednesday at the
Boreham Wood Stadium.
Arsenal began on a bright note with Ainsley
Maitland-Niles and Alex Iwobi threatening from
the flanks.
The 17-year old forward fired home from the
spot seven minutes before half-time to give the
Gunners a slim first-half lead after Austin
Lipman was hacked down by Armando
Anastasio.
On resumption of the second half, Lipman
scored a brace in to put the game beyond the
reach of the Italians. Akpom could have made
it four few minutes later but blew missed
another penalty kick.
The Nigerian however made amends for his
penalty miss by scoring the fourth for his side
with ten minutes after Gerrardo Rubino pulled
a goal back for his Italian side.
