Yobe youths seek end to ASUU’ s strike

Yobe State youths have urged concerned
authorities to immediately address the
lingering face- off between the Federal
Government and the Academic Staff
Union of Universities (ASUU ).
The Coordinator of the Yobe Youth
Students ’ Peace Conference, Comrade
Dauda Mohammed Gombe, spoke at a
peace conference in Damaturu , the state
capital .
He said the prolonged ASUU strike was
compounding the problems of youths ,
especially in the North, where
insurgency and what he called “ under-
education ” are prevalent .
Gombe stressed that the Federal
Government and ASUU needed to show
more seriousness to resolve the crisis,
especially at this time that youths are
vulnerable to several vices .
According to him, the strike portends a
great danger to the country, if it is not
resolved in time .
